CALLING THE DOG, OR THE MANIFESTATION OF FAITH

I was working alone and all of a sudden I had a tremendous headache. My head hurt from the base of my neck all the way up and over the top and down to my temples and behind my eyes. I adjusted my hard hat and took some pills, but nothing was working. There was no one around, but it hurt so badly I heard myself moan out loud and even said out loud, "Ow! It hurts!" I immediately repented and called for healing. I said, "By his stripes I'm healed. Head, you're healed." I wasn't denying what was there. I was calling for what I didn't have. That's how faith works. We call for what's not currently manifest in our natural realm, but it is absolutely real in God's eyes. It's like calling the dog.

 

Sometimes the dog needs to be coaxed sternly with a voice of authority, "Come here!" At other times, with loving confidence, "Here, puppy, puppy. Puppy good dog." Either way, you will know what it takes to get that puppy to come.

 

We walk outside, see that the dog's not there, but call him anyway, and trust that he'll come. But sometimes, when we're calling, a cat comes instead. Too often, we forget about the dog entirely and start calling, "Here, kitty, kitty." Soon more cats come, and then the darn cats are all over us, and the dog never does get his dinner.

 

That's what happened to me. I started paying more attention to my head hurting (the cats) than to the healing I was calling for. Then I made myself stop. I told myself, "You've been healed. God sees you healed, so healing come here now, in the name of Jesus Christ." At one point, I realized I wasn't listening to myself, so I gave my head a little swat with my hand and commanded, "Listen up. Stop hurting right now. I'm calling you healed by the stripes of Jesus. The Holy Spirit is in charge here, not you." The pain went away and has never returned. The presence of health replaced the pain. God's Word puts it this way: God has "chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought [zero] things that are" (1 Cor. 1:28).

 

God tells us in 2 Peter 1:4: "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature." It says we "might" be partakers of the divine nature. The divine nature is quantum; it's in the spirit. Just like light itself was already existent in God before He called it into our natural realm, we can partake of the divine nature if we choose faith's way, God's way.

 

God taught Abraham how to have faith. Romans 10:17 declares: "Faith cometh by hearing." Abraham heard the people around him call him Abraham, which means "father of many nations." At the time, it was impossible that he could be the father of many nations, because he had no children. But he also heard himself say, "I’m Abraham (father of many nations).” It’s a scientific fact that we are more apt to believe what we hear ourselves say, than to hear it from others. God taught Abraham that by hearing and saying, faith would come. And it did. When Abraham was 100 years old, and Sarah was 90, they had their first son.

 

Faith brings the 5^th dimensional reality of God into the natural. Romans 4:13 tells us Abraham received a son at 100 years old because of the “righteousness of faith.” Faith is right. It’s the right thing to believe in. It’s totally a principle from God to us, a lifting up our consciousness to a quantum state of believing in what’s seen by God as real. We can be partakers of this divine nature because God invented it. He taught it to Abraham, and He’s shown us over and over again in the Bible how it works. God wants us to take it and see it manifested in the miracles that result from faith alone.  

 

When it comes to the Bible, we sometimes have trouble with calling “those things which be not as though they were” (Rom. 4:17). But besides the example of calling the dog, there are many things we do daily to call things in before we actually see them. For example, if any of you do Turbo Tax and it shows that you have a refund, you might say, “I’ve got a refund of $3000!” You don’t actually have it in the bank yet, but you know you do have it. Another example would be you turning on the oven to broil a steak. Your spouse asks, “What are you doing?” You say, “I’m broiling a steak.” But if you’ve just turned the oven knob on to broil, the oven is actually cold still, so your action is calling the thing that isn’t as if it already is.

 

When it comes to healing, and we may be manifesting pain or hurt or a disease, God isn’t saying that we deny the illness. That’s when we need faith the most. We call for what we don’t have! We call it in from the God realm, the 5^th dimension, the unseen world where things exist but in a form not yet put into natural, seeable form. To get them into our realm we have to first believe and “see” them in God’s world, the “vapor” world, the quantum, spiritual, 5^th dimensional world. It’s like boiling water. When you boil water it turns to a vapor that we can’t see, but the elements of hydrogen and oxygen are still there. When you take that vapor and slow the molecules back down, they change into the form of seeable liquid water—same elements, different forms.

 

“If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” (Rom. 8:11).  Webster’s Dictionary defines “quicken” as “to enliven; to make alive; to revive or resuscitate; to hasten; to sharpen; refresh.” In this reference, the word “dwell” in both places comes from the Greek word oikeo, which means “to use or have a house.” We know that if someone has a house, they can change things around in that house. That’s what Holy Spirit can do in our bodies—change things around. And if we need new things, we can call them in from the 5^th dimension, God’s great big dimension, His huge unending warehouse of grace.

 

God has the ability to alter any nerve connections, any chemical imbalance, any muscular, tissue, organ malfunction, and change the minutest cellular action. One of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to bring into manifestation in our bodies and souls those things that God says we can have.

 

Just like we can call the dog, and the dog comes, we call what God’s Word says is available to us: “Here healing, here freedom, here love, here long life, here protection, here financial stability,” and they will come too.

 

The form is already there, just like our good health is already there in the unseeable. God spoke the unseen into the world of natural seeing. Jesus did the same thing. And we are to follow suit. Speaking God’s truth out loud is our faith bringing the unseen together for us in the seeable. It is God’s will. He sees us healed and fully well in every way, and by faith, we can see it into manifestation in God’s way too. That’s part of what it means to partake of the divine nature. And that’s why, if we don’t have faith yet like we want to, we ask the Lord to help us “grow in faith” like in 2 Thessalonians 1:3, and He’ll do it!

HOW’S YOUR FAITH?

Do you have the kind of faith that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego had when they were thrown into a pit of fire and came out untouched? “Upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.” Or do you have the faith of the man who was born blind, who came to Jesus and received his sight? (John 9: 1-7). Many years ago, when faced with death, I told the man who was pointing a gun at my face, to put it down in the name of Jesus Christ, and the man put it down.

 

Lately I’ve been thinking about my faith. There are things I have faith for, things that no one can talk me out of, but then there are other things where my faith is not nearly so strong. I think that’s probably pretty typical for most of us. I knew there was a verse where God lets us know that our faith can grow, so I decided to take a closer look at that verse, and start confessing it daily. Here’s what I found:

 

“We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth” (2 Thess. 1:3).

 

I’m only going to go over three words, and you can look up the rest in the Concordance. (All of these definitions are found in the Strong’s Concordance to the Bible – the book or online).

 

The first word I want to look at is the word “faith.” What is it, according to the original spiritual download from God to Paul? Paul got this message and wrote it in the Greek language. In Greek the word “faith” is translated as follows: It means “conviction of truth,” “assurance of belief.” In other words, it’s what we are totally convinced of, what we are absolutely assured of. Faith are those things we are “confident of,” convinced of,” what we “rely on by inward certainty.”

 

Our faith is our “persuasion of the truthfulness of God and our reliance upon Christ.” It is a “yielding to” and a “trust in” those things. I found it interesting and personally endearing that included in the definition of “faith” is to “make a friend.” What we have faith in becomes a friend to us. What an amazing concept!

 

The next two words in English are “growth exceedingly.” In Greek it is only one word “huperauxano.” It is translated: “to increase above ordinary degree, to enlarge, over and above, superior, above and beyond, very highly, and very chiefest.”  And isn’t that how we want our faith to be?

 

We want our faith to grow to the highest level we can possibly have. We want to be as huge in faith as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, as huge in faith as the man born blind, as gigantic as the faith of Daniel when he was thrown to the lions, as powerful as the faith of the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years and one touch of Jesus healed her completely.

 

“And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: for she said within herself, ‘If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.’ But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said:

 

“’Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.” And the woman was made whole from that hour” (Matt. 9: 20-22).

 

These people from the Bible had the kind of faith we all want to have, and have in abundance. Let’s start to call it in with our words. Let’s put claim to what God says is ours: “Our faith groweth exceedingly.” What an exciting time to be alive.

The body of believers is divided on many things right now. Some people are focusing on certain aspects of the world’s political systems; others are focusing on a switchover from the fiat money system to the gold-backed financial system; some focus on certain church doctrines. And some people are trying to focus only on the things that affect them locally. We all have the tendency to think our focus is where others should focus as well. But God doesn’t think that way. When He gave His son Jesus Christ to the world, He gave him to everyone who would believe. All were included in the mind of God when He gave His most precious gift.

 

The Bible in 1 Timothy 2:3-5 tell us God’s vision toward the people of earth: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

 

Ephesians 6:10 tells believers to “be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” A fact of life is that not all believers are strong. But that doesn’t mean that only the strong will receive the blessings God gave to all who believe in Jesus Christ. All of us receive an everlasting home in heaven for one thing, and that is all good forever! A huge concept, I know, but nevertheless, eternally true.

 

David in the Old Testament shows us on a practical level the equity of our God. He takes care of all His children, the strong and the weak.

 

David was away from home fighting alongside the Philistines against one of their enemies. When he got back home with his troops, he found out that the Amalekites had invaded his city, burned it down, and taken all the women and children as captives. The troops were so distressed they “lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep” (1 Samuel 30:4). They were so upset they wanted to stone David, but David went to God about this.

 

“And David enquired at the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. 

 

“So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed. But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor” (1 Samuel 30: 8-10).

 

It’s important to notice here, that out of the six hundred troops, two hundred didn’t feel strong enough for more fighting. They had already been fighting and were weary. David wasn’t upset. He knew that God told him to go and had promised him that he would recover all.

 

David understood that these two hundred men may have gone with him, but they just didn’t have the strength for it. It didn’t mean that they were bad people. In fact, some very bad people (sons of Belial - devil worshippers) were among the four hundred who went with David.

 

They found the camp of the Amalekites.

 

“Behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

 

“And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled. And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all” (vv. 17-19). 

 

“And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them” (v. 21). We see here that David didn’t belittle those who stayed behind.

 

But the evil men that were with David, they resented those who had to stay behind. “Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, ‘Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.’” (v. 22). In their eyes, it was unfair that those weaker ones should be rewarded when they didn’t have to fight. And sometimes the strong among us in the body of Christ may even feel that way: “Why should they get the goods too when we were the ones who had to be out front fighting all this time?!” But God’s ways are above our ways.

 

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord” (Isa. 55:8).

 

We need to always be growing in our thinking and our actions to come up to the level God’s called us to. We can do it because we have His spirit in us, and David is a great example of how it works. God said this about David: “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will” (Acts 13:22).

 

When the fighters wanted to keep all the spoil for themselves, David wouldn’t let them.

“Then said David, ‘Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the Lord hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand. For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike’” (vv. 23-24).

 

 So David carried out God’s will to give equal parts to those that were on the front lines, with those who stayed behind. That’s the mercy, grace, and kindness of our God. He understands us like no one else.

 

And even beyond that, David was so elated with what God had given him that he sent gifts all over to “all the places where David himself and his men were known to haunt” (v.31). He sent presents to people in Judah, and friends in many other places, saying, “Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the Lord” (1 Sam. 30:26).

 

David knew God’s heart of love and generosity. David knew that God would always take the best care of him. David wasn’t stingy or jealous or full of himself. He knew how merciful and kind and generous God was to him, and he knew that it was God’s will toward all his family. David was blessed to play a part in God’s distribution of the spoils, and that is how we are to be too.

GOD KEPT HIS WORD PROTECTED – KEYS TO UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE

The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and protected by the Massorah. Here is a page from the Hebrew manuscript where you can see the smaller writing around the edges of the text.

This is the Massorah, giving the necessary information for that page so that there could be no loss or misplacement of a single letter or word. It locks all the words and letters in their places by recording the exact number of times the different letters occur, the precise number of words, and the middle word of each book.

The Massorah also records the number of verses for each book of the Bible, the middle verse of the book, and many other minute and important details. The Lord set this up to protect His Word over time so that all people from all generations can trust it.

When the English translators got a hold of the Hebrew text, they chose English words they thought would best express their understanding of the Hebrew. A good Concordance gives us that same opportunity. We can look up the etymology of any Hebrew word and the intricacies of its definition. As we think about the definitions, the Holy Spirit gives us a better understanding of what God is saying to us.

Any of you who speak more than one language know that some words don’t necessarily translate the true meaning of a phrase in another language. It works that way with the Bible too. When we use a Concordance, we can see the expanded meanings behind a single word, and that helps us to make more sense of scriptures that we may not think we understand.

Often the extended definitions from Strong’s Concordance can give us a much deeper understanding of even the most familiar scriptures. (You can see Strong’s online @ https://www.blueletterbible.org/search/search.cfm... )

We’ll look at two verses from Psalm 91, and I’ll show you how I look up the meanings of the words, meditate on them, then make them personal without compromising on integrity or how the scripture fits with the rest of the Bible. All of the definitions I’ve used come from Strong’s except as noted in the definition of “Almighty.”

The first verse is Psalm 91:1. “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

The word “dwelleth” is the Hebrew yashab defined as sitting down with, remaining, settling down with, continuing with, marrying, being still with. “Secret” is cether, a place where you’re covered, a hiding place, a place of protection.

“The most High” is El Elyon, the Highest, Supreme, uppermost. There is no one and nothing higher.

“Abide” is the Hebrew lyin which means to stop (usually overnight), implying to stay permanently, remaining, continuing.

“The Almighty” is El Shaddai. Young’s Concordance defines this as the God of overflow, constant supply, and source of all sufficiency.

When I meditate on those definitions and put it all together I have a more personal understanding of the verse: “Carolyn, sit down a few minutes and make yourself relax. Settle down, be still and picture yourself in the protected hiding place of God, up next to the One Who is the Highest Being ever to exist. He wants you there.

You can stay overnight, and then in the morning you’ll be right by His side, and go wherever He goes, close enough that you’re covered by Him, enjoying a constant overflow from Him. This is where you are always protected and where the source of everything good comes from and it’s your special place. No one and nothing bad is allowed to get to you here.”

Now take a good look at the extended definitions above and see what the verse says to you now.

The next verse I want to look at is Psalm 91:4. “He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”

The word “cover” is translated from the Hebrew sakak which means to join together and shut up, entwining as a screen, to fence in or hedge in for protection and defense.

“Feathers” are from the root word abar which means to soar or fly.

“Truth” is emeth meaning stable, certain, sure, faithful, established and right.

“Shield” is the Hebrew tsinnah, a word for pointed hook, prickly like thorns or a cactus hedge. It is a large shield that guards by prickliness. It also carries the definition of being piercingly cold.

“Buckler” is translated from cochera, a shield that completely surrounds a person.

I meditate on these definitions and put this verse in words that communicate to me: “I am joined together close to the Most High, entwined so close in His screen that nothing and no one can come close to me to cause me harm in any way.

I soar with Him and trust His wings over me as we fly together. I only need to believe and speak His truth, which is certain. Since He is the Most High God, His truth is always right. With it I have a shield which not only protects me, but encases me entirely.

With truth I am the one who hooks and pierces the enemy, not the other way around. When the enemy tries to come against me, the certainty of God impales him as if he fell into a hedge of barbed cactus.

The piecing cold freezes the enemy, and without remorse I pierce him through, destroying his power and rendering him ineffective.”

Now go back and read the definitions for the words in Psalm 91:4 and think about what it really means to you now.

Studying some of the extended definitions of the words in the scriptures, like I’ve shown you above, is something we can use to personalize God’s truths and make our everyday lives even more victorious.

LET’S COME UP OUT OF THE GRAVE

I heard a preacher give a talk on many of the pagan things relating to Easter. It made me sad. Like we need to hear more awful things about the world right now?! I don’t think so. It’s good to know what’s going on, but to fill our minds with it? Not a healthy idea. I felt myself slipping into a “I want to hide” mood. Jane and I prayed and rebuked the influences trying to put us in a defeated state of mind. God has given us plenty of reminders that He is still the Almighty and we win!

 

Today we celebrate! The sun still comes up, flowers grow, and animals play. Jesus Christ was raised from the dead to give humanity a reason and right to live in freedom and truth. He is the light of the world and He has not left us.

 

Last evening when I went trail riding, my two guardian angels were riding horses alongside me. Jesus rode donkeys so I guess angels can ride horses, just never really thought about it before. I had prayed about seeing some wildlife and as we came around one bend, there on the side of the hill was a coyote. He walked a little ways and then stood perfectly still on a grassy flat spot and watched as the whole troop of us passed by. Then there was an amazing light thing that happened as the sun was setting and it’s rays lit up the dust circles coming up from the horses’ hoofs. The Lord was showing off and it was awesome. It was a little piece of heaven for me.

 

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life’” (John 8:12).

 

I’ve found that to be so true in so many ways! When I slip into sadness or darkness, Jesus is the one who always pulls me out of the grave in one way or another.

 

Let’s keep seeking Him and loving Him, the living Christ, forever the one who knows how to do life the best.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE AND GET RID OF GENERATIONAL CURSES

What would make three brothers kidnap three girls, lock them up in ropes and chains, and torture them for ten years? The devil and bad blood, that’s what. When Adam sinned and turned his back on God, the bloodline of all humanity was affected. The tendency toward sin literally got into his blood and was passed from generation to generation.

 

Adam sinned, and his son became the first murderer. Many of evils in the world come about because of generational curses. “The guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation” (Exod. 34:7).

 

There are lots of different kinds of generational curses, some more nefarious than others. There is a way we can recognize them, and identifying a generational curse is the first step to deliverance from it. Deuteronomy 28:15-68 lists many of the generational curses that are still in existence to this day. Take time to read it this week.

 

When we read the Bible, we can see the wrong thinking and bad habits passed from father to son, mother to daughter, mother to son, etc. Sometimes you’ll see that a curse skips a generation and comes roaring back to a grandchild. The Old Testament is full of examples of generational curses:

 

“And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God” (1 Kings 15:3).

 

“And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah and reigned over Israel two years. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord and walked in the way of his father” (1 Kings 15:25-26). King David lusted after Bathsheba and even had her husband killed so he could have her. Then Solomon, his son, “loved many strange women: of the nations concerning which the Lord said, ‘Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.’ Solomon clave unto these in love. And he had seven hundred wives. And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord and went not fully after the Lord” (1 Kings 11:1-3, 6).

 

Jezebel in the Bible was an evil woman who cared for no one but herself. She bullied her husband, Ahab, and coerced him into doing evil things. Her daughter Athaliah became a murderer, and Athaliah’s son Ahaziah was an evil ruler. The evil ways were passed down in generations through DNA.

 

In our times, we see molested children sometimes becoming molesters when they get older. We see children of alcoholic parents becoming alcoholics themselves. Other examples of generational curses are stealing, lying, drug abuse, eating disorders, other addictions, erroneous thinking about finances, irrational fears, physical sicknesses and diseases, inexplicable early deaths, and mental problems, just to name a few.

 

But every evil can be overcome. God made a way to cleanse the sin that causes bad blood supernaturally.

 

The answer is Jesus. Because He shed His perfect blood, we receive redemption when we accept Him into our hearts. Our new spiritual blood flow is without the curses that came before. It is up to us to allow it. We have to get strong against the devil’s forces that want us to consent to a life peppered with all the bad we seem to be stuck with.

 

But we’re not stuck with it; God sent Jesus as a Savior for us. He can supernaturally wipe away all generational curses, but we have to want it.

God’s Word tells us people can change. Jesus gives us the strength and supernatural power straight into the innermost part of our hearts so that we can become the people God made us to be—healthy, faithful, strong-minded, able to make good decisions for ourselves, and kind and loving to others.  We can tell the devil what God says: “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse” (Gal. 3:13). That includes any and every generational curse that ever worked on any human being, including us. James 4:7 tells us to: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

 

We can read the scriptures that pertain to us and let the truth enter our hearts, and change our lives from the inside out. Only the Spirit of God can get in between the cracks of our brains, our other organs, our souls to repair, heal, restore and create the new being God intended for us to be.

 

And just because we believe for the miraculous doesn’t eliminate the physical things God’s already put in order, like food, sleep, medicines, environment. All these things are part of how the Lord may lead you to deliverance. Be open to His Spirit for direction.

 

Every change is a miracle at the cellular level, no matter how long it takes. And God is a miracle-working God.

Romans 6:23 says: “The wages [payment] for sin is death.” This is not a “maybe.” It’s absolute. The results of sin come in the form of immediate death or in various partial deaths—body parts not working right, sicknesses and diseases, mental disorders, accidents, bad relationships, etc. But God made a way we would not have to pay the full price.

 

God gave people freedom to choose, and He knew people would choose badly sometimes. He knew that the consequences would get into the DNA makeup, and once sin got started, the results would be passed from generation to generation, no matter how good a person tried to be. Sin eats away at people; that is its nature. So God chose a people He could work with and gave them a way to make amends for their sins.

 

They could substitute a personal sacrifice, paying with something very dear to them, and the sin would be covered for a certain period of time, without the deserved consequences. In Old Testament times, they sacrificed sheep, wheat, barley, doves, and other things that were precious to them and valuable. This quickly got perverted in many cultures to sacrificing babies and virgins (the purest and most precious), which of course, is the exact opposite of what God wanted.

 

God’s ultimate plan was to give His own son Jesus to mankind, trusting that Jesus would escape death and hell by never committing any sin.  

 

When you accept Jesus into your heart and life, you have the most valuable and precious treasure imaginable, greater than anything else in all God’s creation.

 

And when it comes to giving up your most valuable treasure as a payment for sin, you didn’t even have to think about it because Jesus already did it. He gave His life for all our sins because He loved us. And by the way, He knew what he was getting when He got us, our broken miserable selves with all our problems, but He did it anyway!

 

Jesus was a perfect man, and He was the payment for all the sins humans commit. But instead of having to remain dead or in hell, God raised Him from the dead as victorious over everything bad. When we believe in Him, He’s willing to be our Lord. Could you get any better than that? No.

 

If you don’t know Jesus Christ and you want to, then say with your mouth, “Jesus You’re my Lord, and I believe in my heart that God, our Creator, raised you from the dead, free and victorious over everything.” (Rom. 10:9-10).

 

Jesus Christ comes into your heart, and all the old sin is washed out. You become a new person with the seed of Christ in you to stay. And that seed in you rejects sin. So when you slip up (and we all do), God says just admit it, confess that you were dead wrong, and we’ve all been dead wrong a number of times in our lives. Sometimes we don’t even know it until years afterwards, but repenting takes the burden of sin off, and that is a great relief.

 

Telling God that we know we were dead wrong about something is telling the truth, and God agrees with us, Yes, you were dead wrong. He loves us and already knows we’re going to sin at times, even with the spirit of Christ in us. But when we admit we were dead wrong about stuff, it’s the truth. God knows it, and we know it. Then He is able to forgive us and expects us to move on.

 

When God Almighty forgives us, we have no right to hold onto guilt anymore! We’re forgiven by God, and He forgets it too. Our sins go into an ocean of forgetfulness “for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more” (Jer. 31:34). He doesn’t want to be pestered anymore by our whining and lingering on something that we both knew was wrong. There’s no room for thoughts and actions that prolong the shadow of sin on our lives. It’s forgotten and needs to be dropped while we move on to the new things the Lord has for us to do. “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isa. 43:19).

 

We repent and receive our forgiveness from sin, and if we have to endure a few consequences, so be it. Jesus guides us through those too.  “If God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (2 Tim. 2:25-26).

 

Jesus paid it all. He died for everything bad about us and everything good about us. And He is alive now to lead us and bless us. We can live free in the goodness of God’s plan for a victorious life now and forever through the sacrifice and resurrection of His beloved son, Jesus Christ.
