WISDOM AND HEALING

WISDOM AND HEALING

My job was to do touchups in the penthouse rooms at one of the local hotels. My knee started hurting, then my thigh, then my back. I forgot to just ask for wisdom from the Lord on what it was and what to do to make it go away. I took ibuprofen and was handling it myself. The pain subsided somewhat, but it wasn’t going away. I persevered on my own for about two weeks, and it was wearing me down. I finally woke up spiritually, took it to the Lord, and asked my roommate Jane to pray for me. I went off to work like every other day. Only this day, I got the revelation of what was causing my pain and the revelation of how to get rid of it.

As I sat down on the floor to patch and touch up the baseboard and then crawled along to the next spot, I got the Lord’s news flash, and I understood. I was sitting in a scrunched-down position with both legs tucked under me to the side, and I was bent over. I put my legs on the other side, and the same exact pinch happened on the other side, and I realized I’d been sitting and crawling in this position for about two weeks, 7 hours a day. No wonder I was having pinches and pain! I made a conscious effort to change how I was positioning myself, and the pain dissipated and then was totally gone.

Just because you don’t have an instant miracle of healing doesn’t mean the Lord is not healing you. He’s given us many ways to get pain-free and healed.

God designed our bodies to heal themselves. If we take care of our bodies, natural healing comes faster.

Also, I’ve learned that certain sicknesses, diseases, and demons require specific environments to thrive in, so changing our body’s environment on the inside with food, frequencies, acidity, thought patterns, and other things like that, can cause the disease to die or the destructive evil spirit to leave.

There’s much to learn about healing, but whenever we get sick, there is always one thing we should do first: take it to the Lord in prayer. Ask Him, “Do I need to have someone pray for me? Should I go to the doctor? Lord, what’s going on, and what should I do?”

We ask for His wisdom on what to do to get healed. 3 John 1:2 tells us God’s will concerning our health: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” The Lord wants us to be healthy, so He’s glad to give us His wisdom on how to get there and stay there, too.

James 3:17 says: “The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” And James 4:2 says: “Ye have not, because ye ask not.” So, we need to ask.

If we’re unsure about hearing from the Lord or what we think He answered, then we can ask a trusted Christian friend to corroborate or at least pray.

God says of himself: “I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Ex 15:27). Whether it be through a miracle, a doctor, a prescription, a dietary plan, the words you speak, or just changing your position on the floor like I had to do, a healthy body and a sound mind are important in our Lord’s good plan for our lives.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(2Tim. 1:7). Claim it, believe it, and live it.

Love, Carolyn

WISDOM AND HEALING

WISDOM AND HEALING

My job was to do touchups in the high roller rooms at one of the local hotels. My knee started hurting, then my thigh, then my back. ARE YOU A PROCRASTINATOR?

ARE YOU A PROCRASTINATOR?
I was in the scissor lift 30 feet in the air, painting stripes on the ceiling of a new casino. I had to get the stripes painted in between two beams, and there was one small space that was hard to reach. I procrastinated. I could barely see it well enough and if I stretched out from the lift, I could do it. But---

I thought, maybe I could get a better chance at it from the other side of the column — bad decision. I moved the lift around the column and got as close as I could, took the lift up the 30 feet, and I couldn’t reach that one little spot. Shoot!

You guessed it. I had to go back down, drive the lift around to where I was before, maneuver it into the tight opening without hitting the column, go back into the air the 30 feet, stretch out over the edge of the railing and paint stripes on a piece of ceiling that was no bigger than six inches by six inches!

That experience made a lasting impression, and the mental video runs in my head whenever I am in a similar situation in my painting and other categories as well.

If we can see it now and think we can reach it, do it now. Challenging? Yes. But definitely worth it. It’s not fun to go backward and waste time trying to do something we could have done the first time. And besides that, if we hesitate and balk at opportunities in life, there’s a chance they may not come around for us again.

Ephesians 5:15-16 says: “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” The word “circumspectly” comes from a Greek word that means “exactly and diligently.”

We’ve all experienced the rush of starting off being diligent on eating right or exercising or any other great project, but then we burn out down the road.

The only way we can be diligent consistently is by allowing Christ to take an intimate role in our lives every day. True and lasting diligence is supernatural.

Jesus Christ will be coming back to gather those who believe in Him, and we don’t know when that will be.  “But of that [exact] day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son [in His humanity], but the Father alone” (Matt. 24:36).

No second chances after He comes. No time to go back and do things over again. So if you ever thought you might like to look deeper into the things of the Bible and learn more about God; or if you thought you might, someday, want to find out who Jesus Christ really is, and how He can bless your life, I admonish you to start now.

“Heaven and earth [as now known] will pass away, but My [Jesus’] words will not pass away” (Matt. 24:35).
Don’t be like me on the scissor lift, thinking I would reach that six inches later. Let’s take full advantage of seeking what the Lord presents to us today.

Love, Carolyn
