CHRIST’S LIFE IS IN OUR BLOOD

I was thinking I could use some Holy Spirit pep talk right now, to re-energize, inspire and take my faith higher. So what kind of pep talk would it be? Well, the amazing personal supercharge given to us through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross is THE most powerful energizer! Check it out: Colossians 1:27 tells us that when a person gets born again, they have “the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you.” The spirit of Christ Jesus lives in our very souls and bodies now. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; Behold, all things are become new.” If we really believe what the Bible says about this, we can tap into a huge advantage in life, a power-punch of Spirit power we’ve received from God Almighty, the Creator of all things.

 

It’s the power punch that gives us new abilities and makes us different and better than the person we used to be. We have the power to be gentle and kind, to be stronger and healthier, to step out in love with confidence, to perceive what others don’t, to get personal answers from God daily to make brave and right decisions, to excel in life.

 

Take a short journey with me now through the seven bleedings of our Lord Jesus Christ and see what amazing things He’s given us through injecting His blood into our born again lives. The Bible says that the “life is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). So in each area of His bleeding, we have new ability in that area.

 

The first bleeding for us was in the garden of Gethsemane when He prayed: “Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And his sweat was as it were great drops of blood” (Luke 22:41). Jesus was willing to do God’s will rather than His own. One drop of this sweaty blood gives us the power we need to do God’s will rather than our own. We CAN do God’s will; We have the ability.”

 

Jesus next was “scourged” by the Roman soldiers. They thrashed Him 39 times with a whip made of several leather pieces, each loaded with jagged metal or bone pieces that tore and ripped open strips of flesh on His back. The physical tearing of the flesh from His body would also leave gashes and wounds susceptible to disease. Since His blood was perfect, He would have no lasting repercussions from any gashes, pain, or any other physical maladies. His blood covers all bodily things: sickness, weakness, disease, pain, broken, torn or missing parts. 1 Peter 2:24 reminds us that they could not contaminate Jesus’ blood in any way and it is, “by whose stripes ye were healed.” The Bible tells us we have access to total healing through the blood of Jesus. When we believe in God’s sacrifice for us, we realize that He gave Jesus so that He could reconnect with us. Jesus was the price He paid to get us back from Satan’s dominion over us. AND, God got Jesus back too, which the devil did not anticipate!

 

This is supernatural stuff. The Bible calls it “born” again, when we accept Jesus as Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead. No pain, injury, mental disorder, malignant growth, weakness, disability, or any bodily abnormality is attached to the new birth we get. None of that could attach itself to Jesus and when we got “born again,” the same capacity to thwart evil in body or soul is what we have. It’s “born” into us at that moment. We start over! The Spirit of God in us can miraculously, supernaturally change everything, if we only believe that what the Bible says is truly the Word and Will of the ONLY TRUE GOD.

 

Medicine, exercise, food and other things given by God in the first place, can help, but ultimately, it’s the LIFE of Christ Jesus, in Spirit energy, in your “born again body” that has a miraculous and wonderful effect on every particle and cell if we only believe what the Bible says. God keeps His Word.

 

The third place Jesus shed blood was from internal bruises. Isaiah 53:5 tells us: “He was bruised for our iniquities.” Jesus was mocked and beaten. Distress and swelling were caused by broken capillaries and dislodged blood beneath the skin's surface. When we believe the significance of this kind of bleeding, it’s able to take away any humiliation and deep emotional bruises we’ve carried—the wounds that we don’t want anyone to see, even wounds we suspect, but maybe don’t even fully recognize ourselves, until they’ve been taken away.

 

The fourth bleeding was from the crown of thorns jammed into His skull. So much of what goes on in our lives is directly related to what happens in our brains, our minds. Jesus’ blood applied to our minds and physical brains, and we can more easily think right thoughts, and make wise decisions like He always did.

 

Next they nailed Jesus’ hands and feet to the cross. The blood from his hands, spiritually into our hands, gives us unique power in our hands. Think about what we do with hands—we touch, write, make things, give things, stop things, clap, lift, and much more. Believing to let the blood from Jesus’ hands, by Spirit, pulse into our own, can change everything and everyone we touch.

 

Number six is the blood from Jesus’ feet. It changes the path we can walk on. Matthew 7:14 tells us “straight is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life.” Though narrow, it is the path of dominion like God says in Deuteronomy 11:24: “Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours.” This will only be true when we walk in obedience to the ability the blood of Jesus has given us.

 

And lastly, number seven. When the soldier came to see if Jesus was dead, he took his spear and pierced Him through the side—through his belly, his lungs, and his heart—making sure his entire life force bled out. That bleeding gave us his entire life for eternity. The blood shed from his belly made available Holy Spirit to abide within our bellies, in our innermost self. As Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” That’s what happens when we walk by the Spirit - we flow as a living Spiritual river.

 

The blood shed from his lungs made available new life in every breath.

 

And the bleeding from his heart gave us the ability to Spiritually know his heart and be able to extend God’s heart to others. As Jesus said: “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father (John 14:9).” For many of us, that is our life goal.

 GOD’S GIFT TO US, AND OUR GIFT TO HIM

I asked Jesus what he wanted for his birthday, and I kept getting the same answer: “For you to be happy.” I thought surely I must have made that up. That can’t really be Jesus’ answer, can it? But it totally makes sense since that was God’s original plan for man—to be happily working with Him, expanding a huge, wonderful, beautiful body, soul, and spirit family throughout the whole earth.

 

But after Adam turned against God, and man seemed to get farther and farther away, “It repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart” (Gen. 6:6). Man’s thinking became so corrupted that “every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Gen. 6:5). Wow! It’s difficult to imagine people having all evil thoughts, all the time! That means no love for their children or their husbands or wives, no compassion, no mercy for anyone anywhere – yikes!

 

It was so bad that a flood came on the earth, and only Noah and his family survived. Even after the flood, mankind still had sin in his blood. It was passed down through the generations with its proclivity for rebellion against God. This rebellion was inherited from Adam. Man was having a harder time being really happy, because of the sin passed down.

 

So, what about Christmas?  Once Jesus was born, there was one man with uncontaminated, non-rebellious blood. That is a really big deal; no wonder a multitude of angels showed up and were rejoicing! New blood was introduced on earth. Jesus didn’t get his blood from his mother but from God. In the womb, a mother’s blood doesn’t even mix with the baby’s blood. Jesus’ blood was not prone to disobedience, rebellion, pride, or other human failings. The same relationship Adam had with God, in the beginning, was now made available again through Jesus. That gave God peace. When Isaiah prophesied of the coming Messiah, he wrote: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,…The Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6).

 

When a person gets born again, they receive that new blood of Jesus too. In fact, everything is made new by the introduction of God’s spirit to live within us. The old sin nature is wiped out, forgiven, and forgotten. Holy Spirit comes to live on the inside, and that changes every single cell of our bodies if we want it to. As the Bible says in 1 Peter 1:23: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

 

Romans 10:9-11 tells us how to be born again, in other words, how to be a spiritual person and not just a flesh and blood person: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from death, then you will be saved. We believe with our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we declare with our mouths to say that we believe, and so we are saved. As the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disappointed’ (International Children’s Bible).

 

God told us in 1 Peter 1:23 that the spirit in us starts as a seed. Just like a baby begins with a seed and has to grow, so will the spirit of Christ in us grow. Spirit needs spiritual food. God needs for us to first believe that the gift He gave us is real. Just believing it, gives a boost to the seed. Then the seed needs to increase in faith and be fed the truth from God’s handbook, the Bible. The living seed God gave us will never die, but if we want, the seed can grow up and immerse with our bodies and souls. Taking the responsibility of growing that seed is our gift to God.

 

Christmas was all about God’s gift to man and our potential gift back to Him. God’s gift of Christ’s incorruptible seed to dwell within us, gives God peace when we accept His gift, and gives us peace as well, knowing that we will be with Him forever.

GOD DOESN'T CONDEMN SUICIDE VICTIMS TO HELL

Suicide – The Catholic Church says suicide victims don’t go to heaven. I don’t believe that. It’s not in God’s Word.

I had a thought. Was it that particular decree that kept those poor abused boys from killing themselves? To tell them that suicide would keep them from heaven would keep them alive, concealing the secret and making them continually available to those who were possessed by demons to abuse.

Edicts begun in tragic sin only perpetuate more evil.

I’ve known two people who committed suicide. Both were wonderful, deeply sensitive people with tender loving hearts, but troubled by hypocrisy in the world and the unresolved deeply troubling circumstances of their lives.

I do not believe they go to hell for not being able to handle the overwhelming attacks Satan put on their minds and I am not ashamed to say I absolutely hate Satan for what he did to my friends.

I can’t bring them back. And try as we may, I am beginning to see that some of the most devastating trials we may have in this life are things that no matter how much praying we do or how much money we put out in order to fix things, we can’t change the outcome.

I believe with all my heart 1 Peter 1:23 that says we are “born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God.”

In John 3:3-4 Jesus tells Nicodemus “a man must be born again.” The word “again” is the same word for “from above.” Then Nicodemus asked, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?”

“Jesus answered, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (vs.5). Being born of Spirit is being born from above with the incorruptible spiritual seed of Christ, “which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col 1:27).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (vss. 16-17).

Even if a person believed in Jesus and accepted him as Lord when they were only a child and after that they stayed away from Him their whole life, the Bible has already told us the seed in them is incorruptible.

No bodily death, no matter how it happens, can destroy what God promised to do when someone even for one moment decided to believe God’s spiritual truth about Jesus.

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.”

“And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” (1 Peter 1:24-25).

Not one of the Lord’s precious children is ever left behind.

WHY EASTER? - ACCEPTING CHRIST AS SAVIOR AND LORD

Romans 6:23 says, “The wages [payment] of sin is death.” This is not a “maybe.” It is absolute truth. The consequences of sin come in the form of immediate death or in various partial deaths—body parts not working right, various sicknesses and diseases, accidents, bad relationships, etc.

God knew that once sin got started, the results would be passed from generation to generation, no matter how good a person tries to be. Sin destroys people. So God gave them a different way to pay for sin.

They could substitute a personal sacrifice, paying with something very dear to them and the sin would be covered for a certain period of time. In Old Testament times they sacrificed sheep, wheat, barley, doves and other things that were precious to them and valuable. This quickly got perverted in many cultures to sacrificing babies and virgins (the purest and most precious), which of course is the exact opposite of what God wanted.

God’s ultimate plan was to give His own son Jesus to mankind, trusting that Jesus would escape death and hell by never committing any sin.  

When you accept Jesus into your heart and life you have the most valuable and precious treasure imaginable, greater than anything else in all God’s creation.

And when it comes to giving up your most valuable treasure as a payment for sin, you didn’t even have to think about it, because Jesus already did it. He gave His life for all our sins because He loved us. And by the way, He knew what he was getting when He got us, our broken miserable selves with all our problems, but He did it anyway!

Jesus was a perfect man and He was the payment for all mankind’s sins. But instead of having to remain dead or in hell, God raised Him from the dead as victorious over everything bad. When we believe in Him, He’s willing to be our Lord. Could you get any better than that? No.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ and you want to, then say with your mouth, “Jesus You’re my Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead, free and victorious over everything.” (Rom 10:9-10).

Jesus Christ comes into your heart and all the old sin is washed out. You become a new person with the seed of Christ in you to stay. And that seed in you rejects sin. So when you slip up (and we all do), God says just admit it, say you’re sorry and you’re forgiven. Jesus as your Lord will get you the deliverance you need if you’ll only let Him. You can stop making payments for your sins right now. Receive and claim your perfect health in Jesus’ name and your forgiveness from sin.

Jesus paid it all. He died for everything about you and He is alive to lead you and take care of you. You can live free in the goodness of God’s plan for your victorious life now and forever.

LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS

Sherry asked him if the job was starting on the 12th, as scheduled. His face flushed as he tilted his head downward and away from her. He said nothing. Sherry took a deep breath, straightened up her shoulders and confronted him, “It’s not, is it?” He stuttered a bit, “Well… not yet.” There had already been a couple postponements so the tension was thick in the air as her brain ingested those words.

To me it would be like putting a moldy strawberry in my mouth. I’d want to spit it out immediately. But not Sherry. Not one negative word came out of her mouth. She tucked it away and I was amazed.

All of this happened in just a matter of seconds as I stood there mixing my paint, trying to be anonymous. But my mind was going like star bursts, held in breathless wonder at how she was able to keep utterly silent under those circumstances.

Could I do that? Nope, not at this point. I definitely need more practice and help from the Holy Spirit to keep my mouth shut. But, wow, what a goal. Her ability to handle this negative situation so well really impressed me and seeing it in action gave me hope and a vivid illustration I won’t forget.

I’ve always believed that I can learn something from just about everyone, especially everyone in the body of Christ.

We all have our shortcomings, weaknesses and cracks in our souls. Where we lack, there are others who are strong. The Bible calls those who are born again, members of the body of Christ.

We need each other.

The Bible says, “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you” (1 Cor 12:18 and 21).

And Ephesians 5 tells us we are to submit ourselves, one to another. That tells me that we are to look and learn and be observant of those good qualities in other’s lives.

So, Sherry, thanks for your great example. It inspired me and gave me a vivid illustration and model to remember on how to keep my lips locked.

The thing is, Sherry doesn’t even know yet what her actions meant to me (until I send her this).

All the more reason to keep following Jesus the best we can. Because when we do, we inspire others and give them an example to live up to, even when we don’t know it.
